- In 2005, revenues from online travel sales totalled EUR 25.2 billion in the European market, an increase of 10.3% of the market. The European online travel market is predicted to increase by 6 or 6.5 billion EUR or 12.6% per year after 2006. (The Centre for Regional Tourism and Research)
- Tourism, travel and hospitality are #1 or #2 in value of online sales in every major developed nation.

International tourism markets in which ACRO is currently building affiliate networks include:
- USA
- Canada
- Ireland
- United Kingdom (Great Britain)
We have selected these countries for our marketing emphasis because we believe they have the greatest immediate success potential for online U.S. travel, tourism and hospitality businesses. Factors that influenced this decision include the following:
-
Canada and the United Kingdom are major markets for US travel, tourism and hospitality services.
-
The USA and Canada are major tourism markets for the United Kingdom and Ireland.
- All of these countries to a large extent share a common language and cultural heritage; intercultural obstacles tend to be minor and easily surmountable.
- Canada is the number-one trading partner of the United States; marketing, trade and payment channels exist and are familiar to users on both sides of the border.
- In March of 2006, 230,396,996 or 49.8% of the European Union's population were Internet users,
and e-commerce revenues totaled US$180.7 billion.(CRM Today)
- One in 10 of all UK credit card transactions is now carried out online. The items most often bought online include travel products.(Apacs) In many other countries, even in Western Europe, the low penetration of credit and debit cards make international consumer payments problematical.
- Almost 23 million people in the UK (84% of the Internet population) visited a search engine in January 2006. 20% of them clicked through from a search engine to a travel site. (Neilsen//Net Ratings) This makes search-engine optimization very cost-effective for promoting to UK consumers.
- The proportion of Irish adults using the Web increased 162.8% from 2000 to 2005. (Internet World Stats)
